We are delighted to announce that the mechanism of the original Old Avendale Parish clock will be on display in the museum. It was erected in 1772 and replaced in 1902 after 130 years of service. The clock had a black face with gold numerals and hands, the weights were rudely hewn stones. The clock mechanism plus the hewn stone weights have been supplied on loan from South Lanarkshire Leisure Trust and form part of the South Lanarkshire Museums Collection.
